Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: Free Gas Connection Application Now Open
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a very powerful government scheme introduced by the Government of India to provide free LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) connections to women, primarily from poorer households. Eligibility Criteria for Ujjwala Yojana
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for the scheme:
- Age Requirement: The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
- Indian Citizenship: The scheme can be availed of only by Indian women.
- No Existing Gas Connection: There should not be an existing LPG connection in the applicant’s household.
- BPL: The lady needs to be a part of the Below Poverty Line(BPL) family.
- Economic Condition: Women from poorer families are also eligible to apply.

How to Apply for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana
The one-time application process for the Ujjwala Yojana is simple and can be completed over the internet. Here are the steps you need to take to apply:
- Go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
- Then, the option “Apply for PM Ujjwala Yojana 2025” will be clicked on the homepage.
- Then, a new page will open where you will have to select the LPG company from which you want to take the gas connection.
- Select the following: “Click Here to Apply.”
- On the next page, you will be asked to enter your mobile number, followed by your email address, and hit “Proceed.”
- Enter OTP, after that it will ask you to enter the required details and all documents.
- Now, finally submit your application form.
